So upon suggestion, I have changed the name from it's previous domain (Intro Wednesday) to Indie Wensdee(it's Indie as in indie music and wensdee as in Wednesday pronounced with an e sound). It was a suggestion of my friend (
Chandler Baldwin) and it has grown on me so I am going to keep it for now:) If you hate it you can go to Chandler's Apartment and throw eggs at his door.

Now that that's settled. The artist I am going to share today is called Hawkboy. Hawkboy consists of Cody Bonnette and Aaron Lunsford. Cody is the guitarist and singer and Aaron plays drums. You may recognize their name for they are both former members of the excellent band
As Cities Burn. If you don't know As Cities Burn, you need to. They are no longer a band but are still doing mini tours and shows, mostly in the southeast (ya i don't know how that works either, "We're done BUT not really!"). I am attending the Nashville date next week and am super amped.
Hawkboy is a totally separate entity though and some of the sounds of As Cities Burn do gleam through but you definitely have to chew on Hawkboy for what it is in itself. Amazing guitar work from Cody is always present. They truly to have a pretty great sound considering it is only a guitarist and drummer. Think of an indie Black Keys. Crunchy, raw guitars with delicate drum beats and parts that you can just jam your head to.
Either way give them a listen. Do it for free because you can stream their whole latest E.P. on
soundcloud. Below is the title track off their latest E.P. King Folly (I love the guitar work about 2 mins. in). But definitely don't skip over the first E.P. self-titled Hawkboy and if you're into vinyl they just released some dope looking
vinyls which I plan to be purchasing soon. Go to their
facebook, download their
music for they won't disappoint.
